Ruth Brisbane has performed her one-woman show, The Legacy of Bessie Smith Off-Broadway and at numerous American and European jazz festivals, including the Newport Jazz Festival and Spoleto. Ruth continues to perform jazz, blues and popular songs. She is a jazz and blues vocalist whose career began in the clubs of New York City and brought her to Europe and the Caribbean. Ruth sang her way across the stages of Broadway musicals including Grind, The Wiz, and Raisin. She appeared in Paris in Black and Blue and in One Mo’ Time at the Village Gate and in London. She was also in the cast of South Pacific and has appeared in many regional theater productions, television commercials.
